Shadae Booker-Shelton is a doctoral-prepared Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in primary care. She holds a national board certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is board certified and licensed to care for people of all ages (birth to death). Shadae earned her doctorate degree of nursing in 2022 from Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky. She previously earned her master’s degree of nursing in 2019 from Governor State University in University Park, IL, a bachelor’s degree of nursing in 2015 from Purdue University in Hammond, IN, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2007 from DeVry University Tinley Park, IL. She has several years of experience in healthcare leading to her role as a Primary Healthcare Provider.
She has several years of experience in healthcare leading to her role as a Primary Healthcare Provider. Her experience includes primary care, psych, inpatient care on a medical-surgical unit, in-patient acute hemodialysis, and outpatient hemodialysis.
She has experience and a strong knowledge base in providing care for clients for both acute and chronic illness (i.e. Chronic Kidney Disease, Hypertension, Diabetes, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), etc.). Shadae has recently accepted an adjunct position to embark a new milestone as a nursing professor at Rasmussen College (pending University status). She is passionate about providing education and empowering her clients! Shadae’s philosophy of care is to provide high-quality informed care to the clients and the families that she serves.
In pursuit of completing both her bachelor, master, and doctoral degree in nursing she completed three evidence-based scholarly projects. The capstone projects involved extensive research and planning. At the baccalaureate level her project entitled the implementation of using the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale on a detox unit and/or if opiate withdrawal is diagnosed during a hospital inpatient visit, at a local northwest hospital in Indiana. Her master and doctoral degree capstone project and dissertation involved education on hypertension and chronic kidney disease in the minority population. Educating the youth and giving back to the community is essential to Shadae.
In her spare time Shadae enjoys spending time with her family and close friends, traveling, and trying new food. She enjoys a good comedy and action movie from time to time as well.
Angel White is a doctoral prepared Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in primary care. She earned her doctorate degree in nursing at Chamberlain University in Downers Grove, Illinois and graduated with honors. In 2015 she earned her master’s degree in nursing with a graduate program focus as a Family Nurse Practitioner and her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2013 at Governors State University in University Park, Illinois. She earned her associate degree in nursing with an undergraduate program focus as a Registered Nurse from Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, Illinois in 2010. She holds a national board certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She was granted Full Practice Authority in Illinois in 2020.
She is board certified and licensed to care for people of all ages (birth to death). She has voluminous knowledge of health promotion, disease prevention, acute and chronic care management, and health education. She has over 14 years of nursing experience. She started her nursing career as a certified nursing assistant then advanced to a registered nurse and then to a family nurse practitioner. She has experience in primary care (pediatric, adult, & geriatric), urgent care, psych, acute rehab, long-term care, home health, hospice/palliative, and telemedicine.
Angel enjoys teaching! She is an adjunct graduate nursing professor at Lewis University. She impacts the future generation of nurses by sharing her nursing knowledge and skills in a reputed educational setting. In pursuit of completing both her master and doctorate degree in nursing she completed two evidence-based scholarly projects on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Adult Obesity.
Angel is an active member of several professional organizations including the National Nursing Association and Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society. She is very compassionate and have a strong passion for caring for others. Her expertise is in chronic health conditions (i.e. Diabetes, HTN, HLD, CHF, CKD, COPD etc.) and Obesity. Her practice philosophy is to provide the highest level of quality care to the patients/clients, families, and communities she serves.
Angel is a resident of University Park, Illinois. She enjoys mentoring young females and participating in community career and health fairs. She is a sports mom (basketball & football) and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also loves music, poetry, traveling, and a good laugh.
